If We Never Met

There would be an emptiness

I had never felt before

I would suddenly awaken

fearfully in the dead of night

I would forever be finding a void

throughout my searching in the world

I would not where I am for

I would be swept into a whirlwind

of emptiness and indecision that

would haunt me into a life of ruin.

However, this has not come to be

for God has kindled true light into my life.

He opened my eyes and sealed my soul in true Love

and for almost sixty years we have lived as one.

In my old age there is no reason for me to fear

if we had never met!

My dear precious wife:

I love you.

I’mLost, I Said

Take the time to find the genuine side of yourself. Find who you are! Hear the voice, the sound of who you truly are. As the ads say, you are the only you that has ever lived; make the most of it. The poets will say that your idiom is the most unique idiom of all time. You. . . are unique!

Have you listened for the sound of you in the darkness of your idiom? Do you know who you are, or where you are going? Are you lost? What do you want? You need to take the time to cultivate the internal sound of the true you so that you know who you are.

You are that pristine patch of white snow on the ground that refuses to leave in early spring because you are unique; you are meant to be. Take the time to meditate on God’s Love. It matters that we are God’s children. His deep Love seems like a dream, but it is the only solid thing that we can rely on in our lives.

When we awaken to God’s Love, we can no longer complain. . .

I’m Lost, I said.

Our Not-so-Harsh Reality

I’ve known so many people who have experienced personal losses of so many issues that are too difficult to describe without a panel of medical and psychological specialists to interpret for us. Most of these friends have just raised themselves up, brushed themselves off, and tried to live a normal life. Most have done this with the help of a very compassionate friend, who just happens to be a man or woman of the church. This person may not necessarily be the minister; but she will carry with her Love that only God has for Her; the children, for it is only God’s Love that can heal all wounds.

We can never forget the pain of the loss; there will always be a void in our hearts. However, the Love of God, brought back into our consciousness by the beloved angel of the church, or friend, kindles the light of love in our heart that does not replace the void, but builds the heart for future kindness and sharing; sharing that grows; Love that grows; the Love that only God can share through mankind, a strong and healthy mankind that has known and overcome that pain of loss, remembers that loss, and turns that loss into a strong platform for the growth of abundant compassion. John 10:10 assures us that this restorative blessing comes from God and gives us the strength to build back from the pain of loss to spread God’s hope and Love through the world.

We are destined through love to crush the pain and loss life throws at us and restore human dignity through the spiritual path taught to us by all of the great spiritual leaders who have come before us.

Your Opposition

Opposition rises all around

from all quarters,

from decay and disintegration.

impermanence and indecision

darkness still reigns from imperfect thoughts.

rootedness is about specific conditions

not perfect ones

You must seek the Truth

It does not hide from you

but you must strip yourself bare. . .

figuratively.

Know yourself; know the light

within you. It shines with a brilliance all can see.

It conquers all opposition for all

opposition is created by you your own doubts,

your own fears.

The light that shines within you is a gift

let it shine for others to see

Let it shine for you to see

and change your life forever.

Something More

There is Something More in our lives,

more than finally closing the big business deal

or seeing the disabled student finally succeed.

There is Something that opens a door,

showing us another way to think

through which way wisdom travels through

the words on a page, the voice in the air,

to the hollows of our minds.

This freshness is called self-innovation,

coming from the Spirit that dwells within.

If we listen, not with our ears, but with our hearts,

we absorb Something More, a new wisdom that enriches

our eternal being, staying with us forever.

I Bring You Happiness

Gracious and Loving God,

I open our minds to the goodness

and strength You bring in our lives.

When we searched for beauty

You blessed us with human warmth and Love.

Poured us aplenty with doses of blessed goodness and strength.

You created within us a compassionate

presence that is so much greater than ourselves,

so much greater than our imaginations

could ever take us on our own.

It is then that I remember

God steps forth as the loving arms of Mother.

Giving us true happiness.

Dreams

Dream, my love, dream

for the night is long

yet the life is short.

The dream goes on and lasts forever,

but daylight comes once more,

and we awaken from our sleep;

but the dream goes on

for life is but a dream

as the poet writes,

and my love and I

dream through eternity.

Gift of Silence

To truly enjoy nature is to experience absolute tranquility.

One cannot notice the tiny ant exploring the leaf of the vine

as it aggressively assaults the husk of the tree in its everlasting

quest for absolute light and warmth from the morning sun.

True silence is a requirement for space in our brains to breathe;

creativity ne’er comes from bedlam, nor travail, nor revelry.

Our creativity needs the quietude of space to allow the whispers

of God to enter our hearts, allowing us His voice to lead.

Silence forces us to slow down. . .

allowing love to replace all doubts

that creep into our lives each waking day.

This is God’s Love that wraps us

in a warmth so enriching that we

are excited to share the love and nurture

we have been blessed to receive

in our silent times.

o how I shine

the sun glows in the morning

glistening through the floral

highlights of the garden’s colors

o how I shine because of God’s

glory and what flowers mean to mankind

the congregation and diversification

of colors are the peoples

of God’s world

o how I shine

knowing I am one of the

multitude of God’s children in the world

Walking Barefoot in the Grass

I smell the hint of the whispering breeze

moving each blade of grass.

I watch a small black ant struggle

with a giant treasure found

in the depths of who knows where.

I wonder at the beauty of the speckled red

ladybug nibbling her way up one blade

and down the next.

How can I possibly interrupt this symphony

by walking barefoot in the grass?
