Sanctify

Sanctify

When I sanctify myself

I am cleansing my soul,

making me holy before God.

Setting myself apart, I

prepare myself for service

to God and to others.

God invites me

to the redemption

of my inner self,

purifying my sins,

and bringing me

to His holy place,

making me holy

before Him, before Jesus.

Jesus makes me free of guilt,

By guarding my words,

sanctifying the lines,

I write.

With God’s help,

I am vindicated

from the evils of the world –

and reverent in His presence.

God Asks

God asks

me to live my life,

and write what I see

in my book of life.

He placed his hand on me

to serve the weak

and feast last myself.

I do not fear;

He is with me.

Thomas

Thomas answered:

“My Lord and my God.”

We have not seen,

but we believe.

In this we rejoice;

He is our strength.

We will not be upset;

we are blessed,

because we believe.

God chooses us;

we are his issue.

We lack without Him.

Receive His spirit.

He is always before us.

We walk on His path of life.

His peace is with us

for eternity.

A Prayer of Refuge

A Prayer of Refuge

Loving God

You are my refuge

My council is in your words

I hear your voice

In the darkness of night

Your light is my way

In your presence

I have the fullness of joy

In your arms

There is eternal pleasure

I follow your entreaty

All is radiant in your world

By your grace

I will be what I will be

Your grace for me

Has not been fruitless

You have become for me

What I am

Can I be a beloved son

Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder

We know God,

even though we have not seen Him;

with faith

we know He dwells in our hearts.

Our faith fills us with

His presence;

if we doubt,

He still loves and heals us.

Let our doubts form our missions;

our missions let us know

how God loves us.

He loves us from above;

our faith comes from below.

This today is Jacob’s ladder . . .

for us to see God.

Faith

Faith

Is there hope in darkness?

Without light, we are lost;

we look for strength

to inspire our lives.

We need assurance

of things hoped for;

Fear not;

just believe

and walk in faith,

not in what is seen;

We are justified by faith,

not by their rules.

Be as a Cildh

Be as a Child

We rest in God’s love the way a newborn rest on its mother’s breast, realizing warmth, comfort, and security.

We grow in our love for God as we experience our mortal lives. We do not know what to do with our pain and suffering; we are unable to understand why evil should visit our doorsteps. God doesn’t bring this pain, suffering, and evil; God comforts us and is with us, supporting us, strengthening us to survive.

Even though we cannot see God, we love God; we rejoice in the glory of God’s goodness. This is something we cannot think about; God does not live by the intellect; God lives by the heart, the core of our lives. We enjoy peace from our troubles only when we feel the glory of God’s love. Our lives test us; God tempers us with patience, kindness, and gentleness. These are the elements of our existence.

We entrust our lives in God; for it is She who gives us everything we have. When I look at my grown children with families of their own, I remember the perfect gifts they are from the time we first received them to our present days. Our children are given to us, because God trusts us. Let Her see us in the glory that She created us. We may be shaken by life, but we are secure in our God dwelling within us. She asks for love; then gives us shelter and security.

What Spirit?

What Spirit?

Invisible;

a refuge to believe in.

Life,

always a part of me.

Protected,

chosen because of who I am.

Love,

His feeling of closeness.

The paths of life are His refuge.

May I live my life in that refuge.

May I not be separated

from this path.

Reflection for Today’s World on Proverbs 3

Reflection for Today’s World on Proverbs 3:

Keep God’s commandments:

love God; love others; love yourself;

these are the ones that count.

Trust in God with all your being;

discover Wisdom and understanding;

they are life-long companions.

Understand, She is trusting,

more precious that gold.

She is honor;

Her ways are of peace;

She is the tree of life.

God’s Wisdom founded Earth;

walk safely in Her light,

do not stumble.

She is your confidence;

She is your glory.

Mary at the tomb

Mary at the tomb

trembles with fear.

“My lord is gone;

What have they done?”

Peter comes;

lacking faith,

returns home.

Mary weeps

before the angels

fears the presence behind.

“Why weep?”

“Rabbouni!”

Mary sees . . .

We visit the tomb;

find emptiness.

We fail to see

the presence,

who lives within.

We are comforted

by this presence,

by this love.

We live in this embrace

heartened by the warmth

of this blessed embrace.
