I guess I first opened the Bible on my own when I was ten years old. That was seventy-one years ago. I can’t say that I’ve read it every day. And I can’t say that I believed everything that was written in it. I’ve taken classes, I’ve studied, studied on my own; I’ve argued with clergy. I’ve argued with priests. I’ve studied it in college. I’ve taken courses at churches. I’m a Stephen Minister. I believe the Bible is fiction. But I believe that people are rooted in good faith. I believe that’s what man believes. It’s the word of God. Now it’s said that creation took six days. Not man’s days, but God’s days. Eons. Each day there was an eon. And how long is an eon? We’ll never know. On the 7th day, God rested. One of the last things God did was create mankind to attend His creation. God never stopped creating. Look around. God’s creation is ongoing all the time. Just take a walk through the forests of this world. And look at the new plants that are sprouting up every day. Can you count the new fish that are jumping in the lakes? Can you count the new fawns that are roaming the forests? Can we count the new stars that are appearing in the skies? Scientists say that there are 6 trillion, billion stars in the universe. I think that’s just an estimate. I don’t think they’ve counted them. God never stopped creating. God is allowing man to create on this earth. Count the number of children that are born around the earth each year. We are growing in numbers each year. Can we tender our crops as well as God tends to His? Can we be a good father or a good mother? As God is. Can we even try? Can we be Good to God’s ongoing creation?
