Do You Hear It?

It comes from far away,

or maybe

right next door.

It might just be the wind

or

the greatest transgression of humanity,

this quiet voice crying in the night.

When we do not hear it,

we lose all godly compassion for mankind.

If we are truly followers of Christ,

we must give ourselves over

to God’s deep Love and Life,

as He created it.

After all,

godly compassion is seeing others

with deep love in our hearts,

our souls.

We need not know the language of our neighbor;

we merely have to recognize him

and love him

as also being God’s child and creation. . .

just like us.
