Leadership

We step out our doors –
see the need all around:
homeless families,
begging for a meal;
veterans in need of care,
lying in the doorway of an abandoned building.
We look to our government
and find false promises.
The wealthy families
are blind to the need;
the poor are blamed
for a lack of industry.
Our churches promise help,
but first the ancient boilers must be replaced,
the old pews refinished,
and the altar shined for Jesus to see.
There is no leadership here
except from God –
WE must take God’s lead
for those he chose to live with on earth.
