Silence

Shaded patio,
fountain gurgling,
birds drinking - 

groundhog chomping
on fallen seeds
from overfilled beaks -

acrobatic squirrel
stretching from branches,
pirating a morsel - 

me, sedentary in silence,
awed by the cacophony
of nature’s wonder!
